Barrierefreiheitserklärung · voluntary statement

1. Scope and status

This statement applies to the website zyric.de. It is made voluntarily. This site is a personal portfolio; no contract can be concluded on it and no goods or services are sold through it. It is therefore not, to our understanding, an electronic commerce service within the meaning of the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), and the operator is in any case a microenterprise. The formal accessibility statement required by § 12b BGG applies to public bodies, which the operator is not. We publish this statement because accessibility is worth stating plainly, not because we are required to.

2. How accessible this site is

We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This site is partially conformant: it passes the automated checks we run, but it has not been audited end to end against every WCAG success criterion, and it has not been tested with assistive technology. “Partially conformant” means some parts may not fully conform.

3. What has been tested, and how

Self-assessment. The home page, this page, the legal notice and the privacy policy were tested with axe-core 4.13 against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 rule sets at levels A and AA, in a Chromium browser, on a production build. Layout was checked at a 375 px viewport width and at desktop width. Two contrast failures found during that test — the footer byline and the body-text link colour — were fixed. The current result is no remaining automated violations.

4. Known limitations

We would rather name these than imply a level of conformance we have not verified:

  • No assistive-technology testing. The site has not been tested with screen readers, voice control or switch access. Automated tools reliably detect only a minority of accessibility barriers.
  • Motion. The site uses scroll-triggered animation and an ambient animated background. If your system requests reduced motion, animation is disabled globally and the swipe gallery scrolls instantly instead of gliding. This is implemented, but it has not been verified against every individual element.
  • Imagery. Project logos carry alternative text naming the project. Any text rendered inside a logo image is not separately available as machine-readable text.
  • No formal audit. There has been no external accessibility audit and no user testing with disabled people.

5. Feedback

If you hit a barrier on this site, or need something on it in a different format, tell us and we will fix it or send you the content another way. Write to chris@zyric.de. We aim to reply within five working days.

6. Enforcement

As set out in section 1, we do not consider this site to fall under the BFSG, and the § 12b BGG conciliation procedure is open only in respect of public bodies. If you are not satisfied with our response, we would still like to hear about it at the address above so we can put it right.

7. Date of this statement

Prepared on 20 August 2026 on the basis of the self-assessment described in section 3. It will be revised when the site changes materially.
