02Overview

nimimo is a non-custodial crypto identity layer. One link, such as nimimo.com/@chris, receives Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and USDC, abstracting wallet complexity away from the person being paid. You share a name, not a wallet address.

The architecture deliberately separates access, identity, ownership and recovery, with keys remaining fully on-device. Its cryptographic core is open source under AGPL-3.0 as nimimo-core, while the hosted product surface stays closed.

03Process

  1. Step 1: Get your name

Sign up with an email and get a name instantly, with its own link at nimimo.com/@you.

  2. Step 2: Share your link

Send the one link anywhere, instead of a long address per chain.

  3. Step 3: Get paid

The sender opens the link, picks a chain and pays from any wallet or app. Nobody installs anything, and nothing in between ever holds the money.

  4. Step 4: Recover without a seed phrase

Instead of a seed phrase, you create an encrypted recovery file locked with a PIN, keep the two apart, and restore on any device.

04By design

  • Keys on your device. Keys are generated in your browser and never leave it. The server never holds a key.

  • Four separate axes. Access, identity, ownership and recovery are kept apart, so none of them can escalate authority into another.

  • Recovery the server cannot open. The recovery file is encrypted in the browser, and nimimo never holds the file or the PIN.

  • An auditable core. The cryptographic core is open source under AGPL-3.0, so the keys, the identity layer and the device-bound encryption are publicly auditable, and it can be self-hosted.

05Honest status

Live

Live and usable as is. It is mostly feature-complete, so active development is on hold for now. A lightweight developer SDK maps a name to its addresses with no API key.
